Caller ID (Spam indicator)
Stay protected from spam calls with Viber's Caller ID.
Caller ID will display a spam-probability indicator when you receive a call from an unknown number.
NotesViber's Caller ID is only available on Android mobile phones in select countries.
What is Caller ID?
Viber's Caller ID is a safety feature at its core, providing you with a spam-probability indicator for incoming calls from unknown numbers. This spam probability is based on various factors, among which is how many Rakuten Viber users have previously reported the caller as a spammer.
Turn Caller ID ON/OFF
You can turn Caller ID ON or OFF anytime in the Settings:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap More
- Tap Settings
- Tap Calls and messages
- Find Caller ID and uncheck/toggle ON/OFF the option
How the spam score is calculated
Phone numbers that were previously reported by other Rakuten Viber users as a source of spam will be displayed to you with a relevant spam probability indicator. You can still choose to answer the call or decline it. In case you have identified a spam call, by tapping the Report button you help the system improve and protect other users from spam calls.

How can I report a caller as spam/fraud?
You can report a caller as spam or fraud in the post-call screen. To do that, tap the Report button.
NotesIf an incoming call is flagged as spam but comes from a legitimate caller - tap Edit in the top right corner and uncheck the Spam checkmark. Adding a caller name during this step will save it locally (for you only).
Why do I have a high spam-probability as a caller?
While any user can block you from calling them, you must be reported by many users to receive a high spammer probability score by Caller ID.
I would like to exclude my phone number from Viber's Caller ID
To remove your phone number from Viber's Caller ID, please contact us. This form is relevant to anyone wishing to exclude their number from Viber's Caller ID, non-Rakuten Viber users included.

Can ads be disabled on the post-call screen?
Yes! Viber Plus users have the option to disable all ads on Rakuten Viber.
