Viber Pay allows you to send money to friends and family and pay for purchases from businesses on Rakuten Viber–right where you chat.

Availability
Viber Pay is available to persons over 18 residing in the Philippines. If you are missing the Viber Pay tab, make sure you have the latest version of Rakuten Viber installed on your device.
Android: 5.0 and above.
iOS: 13.4 (iPhone 6) and above.

Viber Pay Wallet
You must be at least 18 years old to use Viber Pay.

No. However, any money you deposit in your Viber Pay wallet will be securely held at a bank in the Philippines in a dedicated account of our partner, Paynamics, a payments company regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of the Philippines.
Your Viber Pay wallet also enables you to add money to your wallet using a bank transfer.
You can close your wallet anytime if your balance is zero and you don’t have pending transactions. If you still have money in your wallet, withdraw it first and then close your wallet:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on your profile picture at the top of the screen
- Under the Privacy and security section, tap on Privacy
- Tap Delete Viber Pay account
- Confirm your decision
- Enter your PIN
Deleting your Viber Pay wallet won’t automatically delete your data. If you want to delete your data held by Rakuten Viber, please follow the instructions in the following article: Request, review, and delete your data on Rakuten Viber.
Safety and privacy
Rakuten Viber has partnered with Paynamics, a payment service provider company regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of the Philippines, to provide you with the Viber Pay service. Any data shared with or directly collected by Paynamics is done on a strictly need-to-know basis, which is required for you to use this service. You can review the Paynamics Privacy Policy to learn how they process your data.
We store your Viber Pay funds in the bank account of our partner, Paynamics, which is regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of the Philippines.
How are my bank account details protected?
We require you to set up a PIN/biometrics to use Viber Pay, which helps to keep your details secure. Change your Rakuten Viber and phone PIN every few months for extra protection. We also recommend updating Rakuten Viber frequently to ensure our latest security measures protect you.

If your Rakuten Viber contact has Viber Pay and wants to send you money via Viber Pay, you’ll need to activate your Viber Pay wallet within seven days to receive the money; otherwise, the transfer will be reverted to the sender.

For your security, you can withdraw your money from your Viber Pay wallet after you have upgraded to a verified wallet by:
- Making a transfer to your own bank account
- Making a transfer to your own eWallet
- Making a transfer via OTC channels to yourself

Receiving money
There are no fees for receiving money using Viber Pay!
When someone sends you money using Viber Pay, you’ll receive a notification in your chat with the sender. Tapping Go to wallet will take you to the Viber Pay screen, where you will see your transaction.
If this is your first time using Viber Pay, you’ll see a banner asking you to activate your Viber Pay wallet. Tap on the banner and follow the steps to verify your identity and set up your account. Once your wallet is active, you’ll receive the money sent to you automatically.
Please note that if you don’t activate your wallet within 7 days, the transaction will be canceled, and the money sent to you will be returned to the sender.
Request Money
To send a money request to another Rakuten Viber user, please follow these steps:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on My QR
- Tap on Share
- Select a contact
- Tap on Send
This will share a QR with the user, who can use it to pay the amount.
Please note: if you change your telephone number, your QR code may also change. Please ensure you share QRs created with the correct telephone number.
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on Scan QR
- Select Upload
- Enter amount
- Confirm and Pay
Ensure you are paying the right person by:
- Making sure the name of the person on the QR matches the actual name of the person
- Checking the last 4 digits of the contact no (mentioned on QR) to verify the correct number if needed
- Reviewing the name of the person mentioned on the Send money screen is as expected before confirming.
Viber Pay Rewards
Viber Pay Rewards are exclusive discounts and offers from selected partners available to Viber Pay wallet holders.
To view and redeem the available rewards, follow these steps:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap the More icon on top of the screen
- Tap Rewards

To view rewards, Viber Pay must be available in your country.
To redeem a coupon, follow these steps from the Rewards screen:
- Tap on the reward you wish to redeem
- Tap Copy and shop/Shop now/Code
- Coupons (Copy and shop): Use online or offline (Terms and Conditions dependent) by providing the coupon during checkout
- Discounts (Shop now): Automatically applied while shopping online, as long as you use the reward’s link
- Offline coupons (Code): A promotion code to copy
No. Activating a Viber Pay wallet and redeeming rewards is free.

Communications
The Viber Pay inbox is where all of your Viber Pay-related notifications appear. Messages about received payments, failed transactions, rewards, wallet limits, and offers will be sent directly to this inbox.
Note: Viber will never ask you for sensitive information such as your password, PIN, or credit card details. The official Viber Pay inbox has a badge and supports only one-way communication (you cannot send messages to it). If you notice any suspicious activity or messages, do not click any links, and please contact us immediately.
You can only delete your chat with the Viber Pay inbox. However, it will reappear when you receive a new Viber Pay notification.
Occasionally, we’ll send you exclusive offers related to Viber Pay. You can change your notification settings at any time:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on your profile picture at the top of the screen
- Under the Privacy and security section, tap on Privacy
- Switch ON or OFF how you would like to receive special offers (email, push notifications, in-app messages)
