How to transfer money from your Viber Pay wallet
You can instantly send money to any Rakuten Viber user in the Philippines for free if you have a Viber Pay wallet.
Who can accept a Viber Pay transfer?
You can send money to any Rakuten Viber user in the Philippines. You can also send money to someone who hasn’t activated their Viber Pay wallet yet (they will be prompted to do so to receive the payment).
How do I send money to my friends?
Before you begin, make sure you have added money to your Viber Pay wallet.
You can send money to anyone with Rakuten Viber and Viber Pay available in your country. Contacts who don’t fulfill these criteria won’t be listed as receiver options.
To send money to a contact:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on Send
- Select the Rakuten Viber contact you want to send money to
- Enter the amount you wish to send
- Optional: Add a note to describe your transaction
- Tap Send
OR
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- In the Chats
screen select the person you want to send money
- Tap on Viber Pay
(at the bottom of the screen or in the More menu)
- This option won’t be available if your contact is in a country that doesn’t support Viber Pay yet
- You’ll be redirected to Viber Pay, where you can complete the transaction by following steps 5 and 6 in the previous instructions
- If you haven’t activated your Viber Pay wallet, you will be prompted to do so before you can start the transaction
Your contact will receive the payment instantly, and you’ll see a record of the transaction in your Recent activity list.
Transfer money to Banks or E-wallet accounts (Instapay)
Your contact doesn’t need to be a Rakuten Viber user if you send money directly to their bank account or eWallet. See here which banks and eWallets we support:

You can make a bank transfer directly into your contact’s bank account/eWallet or your own for a fee:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on Transfer Money
- Tap on Bank or e-wallets
- Tap on which institution you want to transfer money to
- Fill out the requested details
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Enter a reason
- Tap Confirm to pay
- Enter PIN or fingerprint/Face ID
- Enter the one-time-password you’ve received
The transactions are mostly instant, but sometimes it may take 1-5 business days, depending on your bank/e-wallet processing time.
Transactions are final and irreversible, and you can contact the receiving institution regarding any concerns.
Transfer money to Over-The-Counter Channels (Cash-pickup)
You can make a bank transfer directly into your contact’s account or your own for pick up in cash over the counter (OTC) for a fee:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Pay
- Tap on Transfer Money
- Tap on OTC
- Tap on the institution you wish to transfer money to
- Fill out the requested details
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Enter a reason
- Tap Confirm to pay
- Enter PIN or fingerprint/Face ID
- Enter the one-time password you’ve received
- Wait for the Viber Pay inbox message for the claim reference number.
The recipient must present the claim reference code to their preferred branch to claim the money. If unclaimed after the transaction validity date, the transaction will be canceled, and the amount will be returned to your Viber Pay wallet. Transactions are irreversible and final, and you can reach out one-time password institution regarding any concerns.
