Overview
Viber Dating makes it easy to meet new people who share your interests. Create your profile, explore potential matches, and start meaningful conversations – all without leaving the Viber app.
Availability and eligibility
We are rolling out the Dating feature gradually. If it's not yet available in your area - it will be soon!
Viber Dating is available based on two factors: the country code associated with your phone number and your current location.
To make sure you can connect with people around you, access to Viber Dating is now given to either people with a phone number from an eligible country or people physically located in an eligible country.
- If you have a phone number from an eligible country, you can access Viber Dating even if you travel to a country where it is not available
- If your phone number is NOT from an eligible country, you can still access Viber Dating while visiting an eligible country. However, if you leave the eligible country, you won’t be able to see the discovery feed or find new matches until you return. You can still access your existing matches and chats from anywhere
- When you’re outside an eligible country, you’ll see a Dating Unavailable screen only on your Discover feed. The feed is designed to show you people nearby, based on your location. While you won't be able to swipe or find new matches in this location, you can still access your profile and keep the conversation going with your existing matches
Create your Dating profile
To create a Viber Dating profile:
- Tap on More
- Tap on Create Profile
- Review the Terms & Conditions
- Tap on
- Enter your details and upload photos
- Enable location services
- Accept the Community Guidelines
Your name or age can only be changed by deleting your profile and creating a new one. To do that:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on View profile
- Tap on Your profile picture
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Account
- Tap on Delete Viber Dating account
- Tap on Delete account to confirm
To update your Dating profile:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on your profile picture
- Tap on Edit profile
- Make the desired changes
- Tap on Done (iOS) or Checkmark (Android)
Zodiac sign
Sharing your zodiac sign is a great way to add personality to your profile and give your matches a fun conversation starter.
Viber automatically calculates your zodiac sign based on the date of birth you provided during setup.
Yes. The option to display your sign is turned on by default, but you can turn if off:
- During setup: Simply switch the Display Zodiac toggle OFF on the birthday selection screen
- After setup: Go to Edit profile, find your zodiac sign, and update your display preferences
Discover, match, and like
To update your matching filters:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on Settings
- Adjust the distance and age range
- Tap on Apply changes
A MegaLike is your way to show a potential match that you’re really interested. The recipients of your MegaLikes will be able to tell that you’ve MegaLiked them, elevating the chance of matching!
The MegaLike feature is gradually being rolled out and might not be available in your country yet.
MegaLikes can be purchased by tapping the MegaLike button on a match you’d like to send a MegaLike or by visiting your dating profile.
Recipients can see that you’ve MegaLiked them when they come across your profile while swiping or on their Likes page (if they have purchased the option to view received likes).
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on Likes
- Tap on See who likes you
- Tap on Reveal now
- Approve the payment
- Viewing who liked you is a one-time purchase that shows the likes you’ve accumulated so far and for the next 24 hours
- You can always subscribe to Viber Dating Premium and receive permanent, full access to the Likes tab
Yes! You can instantly reverse your last accidental dislike on a profile using the Undo button. When you swipe left to dislike a profile, the Undo button will immediately become available.
To reverse your action and see the profile again:
- Right after disliking a profile, in the Discover tab, tap the Undo button
- The profile you just disliked will reappear
- You can now choose to Like (swipe right) or Dislike (swipe left) it again
- You can only undo the very last profile you disliked
- The Undo button is only available after a dislike (left swipe). You cannot undo a Like or a Mega-like
- Currently, the Undo button is free for all
If you have fewer than four photos on your Viber Dating profile, you'll only be able to see the first two photos of other people's profiles. Any additional photos they have uploaded will appear blurred.
To see all the photos on someone's profile, simply add more photos to your own profile:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on Profile
- Tap Edit profile
- Tap the + button to add more photos
- Tap the checkmark when you’re done
To unmatch someone you've matched with:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Long-tap (Android) or swipe left (iOS) on the contact you wish to unmatch
- Tap Unmatch
- Confirm by tapping Unmatch again
Premium features
Viber Dating Premium is a paid monthly subscription that gives you access to the paid Dating features with increased credit to improve your dating experience. These include extra MegaLikes, extra Boosts to make your profile more visible, and full access to see who likes you.
You can subscribe from the Profile tab or when buying one-time features like MegaLikes or Boosts. Tap Get more with Premium and follow the purchase steps through the App Store / Google Play.
- 10 MegaLikes every month to show potential matches extra interest
- 2 Boosts every month to increase your profile visibility
- Full access to the Likes tab to see who liked you
Yes, your subscription will automatically renew monthly unless you cancel it through the App Store / Google Play.
When your subscription ends, you will lose access to Premium features like the Likes tab and monthly MegaLikes and Boosts. You can renew anytime to regain these benefits.
Yes, you can restore your subscription by following these steps:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on More
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Account
- Tap on Purchases
- Tap on Restore purchases
Privacy and visibility
After completing the onboarding process and creating your account, you will see a prompt asking if you wish to hide contacts / groups. Click on Hide Contacts to proceed.
To access Hide Contacts post-onboarding:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Dating
- Go to your Profile tab
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Hide Contacts
- Choose the relevant (Contacts / Groups) tab
- Finally, tap on Hide next to each contact/group you’d like to be hidden from, or Hide all to hide everyone in your contact list
- You must enable the Access Contacts permission to use Hide Contacts
- Tapping on Hide all does not hide you from contacts in groups
The hidden contact will not see your profile on the Discovery feed but will remain visible in your matches and chats.
If you’d like to hide your profile from a specific user (and no longer see theirs), follow these instructions:
- Tap on
- Tap on Hide profile
Hiding is mutual - you won’t see their profile, and they won’t see yours.
To ensure your use of Viber Dating is discreet, you can remove the icon from your main Chats screen. When you hide it, the only thing that changes is the visibility of the icon on your Viber Chats screen. Your profile, matches, and chats will remain intact.
To hide or show the Viber Dating icon:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on Profile
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Account
- Select Hide
- To unhide the icon, repeat steps 1-5 and select Show
- If you choose to hide the icon, you can still access Viber Dating at any time by navigating to the More tab and tapping on Viber Dating
To protect your personal information and photos, Viber Dating automatically blocks screenshots and screen recordings on certain screens. This prevents your profile information and media from being saved or shared without your consent.
You cannot take screenshots or screen recordings in the following areas:
- The Discover tab
- The Likes tab, including any profiles you open from this screen
- When viewing a person's full Dating profile
Safety and reporting
If you encounter behavior that violates our policies, you can report a profile or a specific message.
If someone sends you an offensive or harmful message, you can report it specifically:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Open your chat with the relevant person
- Long-press the message you want to report
- Tap Report message
- Select the category that best describes the violation
- Tap Report to confirm
You can report a profile from several places if you feel someone isn't following our community guidelines:
From the Discover or Likes tab
- Tap the person's profile to view their full details
- Tap the Menu (three dots) at the top of their profile and select Report
- OR scroll to the very bottom of the profile and tap Report
From a chat
- Open your chat with the person
- Tap the Menu (three dots) at the top of their profile
- Select Report
Manage your account
You can pause your account if you want to take a break from Viber Dating without losing your matches or messages. When your account is paused:
- Your profile will be hidden from other users’ feeds
- You won’t be able to swipe or match with new people
- You can still send and receive messages with your existing matches
- Your matches, messages, and profile information will stay saved
- Notifications related to the feed will be disabled while paused
You can reactivate your account anytime to continue swiping without losing any data.
To pause your Viber Dating account:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on your Profile
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Account
- Tap on Pause or delete account
- Select Pause profile
After pausing, you will see a special "Paused" screen in the feed with an option to unpause your profile. To unpause your Viber Dating account:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- In the feed, tap on Unpause profile
- Your profile will become visible again, and you can start swiping and matching
When your account is paused, the following changes occur regarding your profile's visibility and app interactions:
- Your profile will not appear in other users’ feeds or the Who Likes Me tab
- You won’t receive feed notifications
- You can still update your profile, but changes will go through the usual moderation process
- Your profile will remain hidden until you unpause it
Pausing your account is a great way to take a break from dating without losing your progress or connections.
To delete your dating profile:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on Chats
- Tap on Viber Dating
- Tap on View profile
- Tap on More
- Tap on Delete profile
- Tap on Yes, delete to confirm
Data and privacy requests
Your profile will be removed from Viber Dating and won't be visible to others. After 30 days, we’ll delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
If you delete your Viber Dating profile, your data is kept for 30 days. Please keep in mind that once these 30 days are up, you won't be able to recover your profile or any of its information.
During this period:
- Your profile is completely hidden and invisible to other people using Viber Dating
- Your profile data is retained to comply with Viber’s Privacy Policy
- After 30 days, your profile and the entirety of your data is permanently deleted from our systems
If you don’t want to wait for the 30-day period to end, you can request the immediate deletion of your data. This action overrides the 30-day period and permanently removes your information right away.
If your profile is blocked, your data is kept for 90 days. If you successfully appeal the block during this time, your profile, matches, and conversations will be fully restored.
