How do I get my verification badge?
The process is quick and easy.
You’ll be asked to take a live selfie which will be checked against the photos on your profile. The selfie you take will not be saved internally, visible to anyone else on Viber, or shown on your profile.
Note
You must have at least one clear photo of your face uploaded to your dating profile
To get your verification badge:
- Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
- Go to the Dating tab
- Tap on the Profile tab
- Tap Edit profile
- Tap on Verify
- Follow the on-screen instructions to take a selfie
- Once you submit your selfie, you'll see a confirmation message
We'll let you know when your profile has been verified with a push notification.
Once you're verified, a special badge will appear on your profile. Other people will see this badge on your profile and on the Discover, Matches, and Likes screens, letting them know that your photos are authentic.
Why can’t I get verified?
If your verification fails, it may be because of one of the following reasons:
Camera settings
- Check your app permissions -
iOS: Settings → Viber → Enable Camera
Android: Settings → Apps → Viber → Permissions → Camera → Select your choice
- Update Rakuten Viber and restart your phone
Photo issues
- The lighting was too dark or your face was not clearly visible
- You were wearing sunglasses, a hat, or other items that covered your face
- Your selfie didn’t clearly match the person in your profile photos
If your verification is rejected, don't worry – you can try again later.
