Google Play purchase errors

If you have an Android phone or tablet, you’ll be able to make purchases on Rakuten Viber, such as stickers and Viber Out credit, through Google Play.

This article contains advice for the most common Google Play purchase errors. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact us.

• Make sure you are using the latest version of Rakuten Viber
• Make sure you are using the latest version of Google Play
• Restart your phone/tablet

You must be logged into your Google account to purchase through Google Play. If you aren’t logged in, you will be prompted to do so before you can proceed with the purchase.

Check that your default Google account is the one that holds your credit card details.

If your credit card isn’t connected to your account you will have the option to add it, otherwise you won’t be able to complete the transaction.

The first Google account set up on the device is considered to be the default Google account. It always will be the account that is charged.

An error message saying that in-app purchases are not available means that Google does not support merchants (i.e., Rakuten Viber) to sell products through Google Play in your country.

You will receive a failed transaction error message if your payment attempt is declined. This may happen if the credit card connected to your Google account has expired or you have insufficient funds in your bank account.

Please contact your bank or credit card company for support as Rakuten Viber doesn’t have access to information regarding declined transactions.
