Rakuten Viber is not intended for children under 13, and certain services or features are restricted to those under 16 or 18.
To protect our youngest users, we ask you for your age during registration (your age will not be disclosed to other Rakuten Viber users).
User safety around the world
In an increasingly digital world, ensuring the safety and well-being of our users, particularly minors, is of paramount importance. As part of our commitment to provide an age-appropriate experience to our underage users, in compliance with various global regulations, including EU, US, and UK privacy and online safety laws and regulations, we have introduced the following age-related settings and restrictions.

Protections for underage users
The following services and features will be affected if you state that you are under 18:

*The Rakuten Viber spaces you see on the Explore screen, like info about Viber features and partner content, are suitable for younger users. But just a heads up: it’s best to be careful and avoid the news sections on the Explore screen unless you have a parent or guardian with you, as we cannot guarantee all of it is suitable for minors.
Note: Rakuten Viber allows anyone to create bots, communities, and channels on its platform. Some of these spaces may be intended by their creators for users above 18 only. Whenever you see a bot, a community, a channel, or a business account intended for 18+, this means that its content is not suitable for a minor. If you have not reached 18, you should not proceed with further interaction with this feature or content.
If you are a user in the EEA, UK, or US, the following settings will apply by default if you state that you are under 16. Additionally, if you are a user in the UK, settings marked with (UK18) extend to users who have not reached 18 yet.
