Report inappropriate content
Overview
Viber should be a safe place for you to communicate with your friends, family, colleagues, and members of communities. Unfortunately, since Viber is a user-driven platform, this is not always the case.
If you find inappropriate content being shared on Viber, we encourage you to report it. In case of an emergency, please contact your local authorities.

Reporting inappropriate content
Our support team will review the information you reported and will take the appropriate action. You may also wish to leave any community or channel in which you find inappropriate content.
How do I report inappropriate content?
- Open Viber
- Select the community that you would like to report
- At the top of the screen, tap the three dots
- Tap Report Community
- Select the reason for reporting the community
- Open Viber
- Select the community or bot with an inappropriate message
- At the top of the screen, tap the three dots
- Tap Report a message
- Tap the message(s) that you would like to report
- Tap Report at the bottom of the screen
- Select the reason for reporting the message(s)
You can also report a message by long tapping on it and selecting Report.
After reporting a message in a community or channel, members can also delete the message by selecting Hide reported post. The message can still be viewed by other members and admins in the community / channel. Please note that if you uninstall and reinstall Viber, the message will be visible to you again.
- Open Viber
- Select the community that you would like to report
- At the top of the screen, click on the community’s name: the community info page
will open
- Scroll to the bottom of the info page
- Click on Report Community
- Select the reason for reporting the community
- Open Viber
- Select the community or bot with an inappropriate message
- Right click on the message
- Click on Report
- Select the reason for reporting the message
After reporting a message in a community or channel, members can also delete the message by selecting Hide reported post. The message can still be viewed by other members and admins in the community / channel. Please note that if you uninstall and reinstall Viber, the message will be visible to you again.
- Tap on the sticker you want to report
- Tap Get it
- Tap on the Arrow
- Tap Report
- Select the reason for reporting the sticker pack

Report another user
If you receive messages from someone that make you feel uncomfortable or violate our policies, you can report them directly from your chat or their contact profile.
You can report someone through the Chat info screen or their Contact info page.
When you report someone, their details are sent to our team for review. They won’t be notified that you reported them.
From a chat:
- Open Viber on your phone or desktop
- Select the chat with the person you want to report
- Open the Chat info

- Scroll down and tap / click Report this contact
- Confirm your action (on your phone, you can choose Report or Report and block)
*Mobile: Tap the name of the person (iOS) or the More button (Android) at the top of the screen, then tap Chat info
Desktop: Click the Info icon at the top of the screen
From a contact profile:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on the person's profile picture or name in your chat list or contact list
- Tap Report this contact
- Confirm your action
Once blocked, this person will no longer be able to message or call you.
From a chat:
- Open Viber on your phone or desktop
- Select the chat with the person you want to block
- Open the Chat info

- Scroll down and tap / click Block this contact
- Confirm by tapping / clicking Block

Desktop: Click the Info icon at the top of the screen
From a contact profile:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on the person's profile picture or name in your chat list or contact list
- Tap Block this contact
- Confirm by tapping / clicking Block
- On desktop, you can also report or block unsaved contacts through a banner that appears at the top of the chat screen
- On desktop, if you block someone by mistake, you’ll have five seconds to click Undo

Once you send a report, our Support team will review the account and the recent messages shared to determine if they violate our Acceptable Use Policy. We’ll take appropriate action, which may include a temporary or permanent ban of the account.
If you choose Report and block, the user will also be added to your Block list, and they won't be able to call or message you.
