Sync and manage contacts

When you open Viber, your contact list should automatically be synced with the contact list on your phone. If you can’t see all your contacts, try the following:

• Check your internet connection
• Close Viber and open it again
• Check that Viber is permitted to access your contact list in your phone’s app permission settings
• Update your phone / desktop to the latest version of Viber
• Restart your phone
• If the issue is on your desktop, restart both your phone and your desktop
• If the issue is only with one contact, try deleting them off your phone and then add them again to your contact list

If the above recommendations don’t work, you can deactivate and reactivate Viber on your desktop (if that is where the issue occurs) or uninstall and reinstall Viber on your phone.

To see if your contact has Viber:

Phone

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Calls
3. Type in your contact’s name

If they DON’T have Viber, you’ll see Viber Out Call written below their name.

Desktop

1. Open Viber on your desktop
2. Click on Compose next to the Search field
3. Click on Viber only

Saving a phone number in Viber will automatically add it to your phone’s contact list.

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on More
3. Tap Add contact
4. Enter the phone number (including the + and the country code)
5. Tap Continue (Android) or Done (iOS)
6. Tap the Checkmark (Android) or Save (iOS) to confirm

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on More
3. Tap Add contact
4. Tap QR scanner
5. Ask the other person to show you their QR code
6. Scan their QR code
7. Tap the Checkmark (Android) or Save (iOS) to confirm

When you first interact with someone on Viber, a banner appears, allowing you to add the person to your contacts list.

Tap on Add to contacts and then the Checkmark (Android) or Save (iOS) to confirm.

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats
3. Tap on a chat with the person you want to add to your contact list
4. Tap Info (Android) or the name of the chat (iOS) at the top of the screen
5. Tap Chat info
6. Tap Add contact
7. Tap the Checkmark (Android) or Save (iOS) to confirm

When someone shares a contact with you, tap Save contact on their info card and then tap the Checkmark (Android) or Save (iOS) to confirm.

When your contact changes their phone number on Viber, you will see a banner at the top of your chat. Tap Save new number to update your contact’s information in your contact list.

New friends can easily add you to their contact list using your QR code:

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on More
3. Tap on the QR code icon (top of the screen)
4. Tap on My QR code to show the code to your friends

2. Tap on Chats
3. Select the chat you would like to share a contact with
4. Tap
5. Tap Contact
6. Select the contact

1. Open Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats
3. Click on the contact you would like to share
4. Tap the three dots (Android) or the name of the chat (iOS) at the top of the screen
5. Tap Chat info
6. Tap Share contact (under the display picture)
7. Select with whom you would like to share the contact
8. Tap Send or Done (iOS)

1. Open Viber on your desktop
2. Select the chat you would like to share a contact with
3. Click and drag a contact from your chat list into the chat screen

1. Open Viber on your desktop
2. Click on the contact you would like to share
3. Click on Info
4. Click on Share contact (next to the contact's name)
5. Select with whom you would like to share the contact
6. Click Share
