About Viber Out calls
The phone number you can call will depend on whether you're using World Credit or a plan:
World Credit: Any phone number* in the world.
Plan: Mobile and landline numbers**.
*Excludes satellite phone numbers.
**Excludes special, premium, non-geographic, and satellite phone numbers.
You may experience connectivity issues when using Viber Out in the following countries:
- China
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Morocco
- Pakistan
- Serbia
- Tunisia
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
The phone number that you’re registered with on Viber will determine your call type:
Domestic call: The caller and the receiver share the same country code in their phone number.
Example: If your phone number begins with +1, and you’re calling another +1 phone number, even if you’re not in the US or Canada, it will still be considered a domestic call.
International call: The caller and the receiver have different country codes in their phone number.
Example: If your phone number begins with +1, and you’re calling a +44 phone number, even if you’re both in the US, it will still be considered an international call.
To make a Viber Out call, you must be connected to the internet (mobile data or WiFi). Your carrier will not charge standard calling fees.
The receiver of your call doesn’t need to be connected to the Internet; however, they must be in an area that can receive phone calls.
The recipient of your Viber Out call may be charged a fee by their phone provider, just like they might for any other incoming call. Rakuten Viber does not charge recipients for accepting a Viber Out call.
Your call will automatically be disconnected after four hours; however, you can redial immediately to continue your call.
Yes! You can use either World Credit or a plan to make a Viber Out call from your desktop.
