Use and create stickers on Rakuten Viber

Sticker packs can be downloaded from Rakuten Viber’s Sticker market. To open the Sticker market:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on More
3. Tap on Sticker market 

To download a sticker sent to you in a chat, tap on the sticker and tap Get it.

Once the Sticker market opens, tap Free download (if it’s a free sticker) or on the given price of the sticker in the green panel.

Some sticker packs will be available in more than one language. Tap on the Arrow  next to the sticker pack price to view the available options.

If you see an inappropriate sticker pack, report it!

Promotional sticker packs

Sticker packs used for promotional purposes may automatically subscribe you to a community, channel, or bot. Subscription information will be available in the description of the sticker pack in the Sticker market.

Notes

• You can only open the Sticker market and download new stickers on your phone and tablet (if it’s your primary device)
• You can’t download private sticker packs created by other Rakuten Viber users or expired sticker packs
• You won’t lose your sticker pack if you unsubscribe from a community, channel, or bot that you were added to after downloading a promotional sticker pack

To see all your sticker packs:

Phone

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats 
3. Open any chat
4. Tap on Expressions (Android) or Stickers (iOS)
   • Select Stickers (Android)
5. Your sticker packs will be displayed at the bottom of the screen
   • Scroll right/left to view different packs

Desktop

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your desktop
2. Open any chat
3. Click on Stickers
4. Click on the Arrow next to your sticker packs* (bottom right of the screen)
   • Click on Sync to see recently downloaded stickers

*Not all sticker packs can be seen on desktop and tablet devices.

The sticker panel will always show several sticker packs plus the emoji pack. If you have sticker packs that you use more frequently, you can arrange for them to be displayed first:

Phone

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats 
3. Open any chat
4. Tap on Expressions (Android) or Stickers (iOS)
   • Select Stickers (Android)
5. Scroll to the end of your sticker packs at the bottom of the screen
6. Tap on Settings 
   • Tap Edit (iOS)
7. Long tap on Drag (Android) or on More (iOS) next to a sticker pack and move it to a new position
8. Tap Done when you’re finished (iOS)

Desktop

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your desktop
2. Open any chat
3. Click on Stickers
4. Click on the Arrow next to your sticker packs (bottom right of the screen)
5. Click on Settings 
6. Click on the Drag icon next to a sticker pack and move it to a new position
   • Click on the Eye to hide the pack from the sticker menu
   • Click on the Eye again to unhide the pack

When you delete a sticker pack that you created, keep in mind the following:

• You won’t be able to restore the sticker pack (it will be permanently deleted)
• Deleting a sticker pack won’t delete it from anyone who has already downloaded it
• It may take up to 2 hours for a public sticker pack to be removed from the Sticker market

To delete a sticker pack:

Phone

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats 
3. Open any chat
4. Tap on Expressions
   • Select Stickers 
5. Scroll to the end of the sticker panel and tap on Settings 
   • Tap Edit (iOS)
6. Tap on Delete (Android) or (iOS) next to the sticker pack
7. Tap Delete selected item (Android) or Delete (iOS)
   • Tap Yes (Android)

On Android, you can also hide a sticker pack from your stickers panel by tapping on the Eye  in Step 6.

Desktop

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your desktop
2. Open any chat
3. Click on Stickers
4. Click on the Arrow next to your sticker packs (bottom right of the screen)
5. Click on Settings 
6. Click on Delete next to the sticker pack that you want to delete
   • You can only delete sticker packs that you created
7. Click Delete to confirm

You can also hide a sticker pack from your stickers panel by clicking on the Eye in Step 6.

You can restore your sticker packs if you reinstall Rakuten Viber or change phones (and remain on the same platform).

To restore your stickers:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your new phone
2. Tap on More
3. Tap on Settings
4. Tap on Account
5. Tap on Purchases
6. Tap on Restore sticker packs (Android) or Restore (iOS)

Notes

Free sticker packs that are no longer available in the Sticker market won’t be restored.

To send a sticker:

1. Open Rakuten Viber
   • Tap on Chats  (phone)
2. Select the chat where you want to send a sticker
3. Select Expressions (phone) or Stickers (iOS and desktop)
   • Select Stickers 
4. Tap/click on the sticker you want to send

See your recently used stickers by tapping on the Clock in the stickers menu after Step 3 (Android only).

To preview the sticker before you send it, tap/click and hold the sticker (iOS only).

The easiest way to share a sticker pack is to send a sticker from the pack in your chat. Once the other person receives it, they will be able to download the sticker pack from the Sticker market (unless it’s not available in their region or the sticker pack is private).

To share a sticker pack that you haven’t downloaded yet, open the pack in the Sticker market (either by finding it there or by tapping Get it in your chat) and tap on the Arrow next to the sticker pack price. Tap Share and select to whom you want to show the pack.

If you want to share a sticker pack that you created, you will need to make it Public first. Once it’s public, you will have the option to Share  it when you tap on the sticker pack.

Some stickers are animated, and others have sound effects. These can be identified with a small icon next to the sticker pack thumbnail.

The sticker will animate/play a sound as soon as you send the message. To see the animation/play the sound again, tap/click on the sticker in the chat.

Emojis can be inserted into your messages along with text, while stickers will be sent separately. Some emojis will display related stickers when you add them to an empty Text field.

To send an emoji:

1. Open Rakuten Viber
   • Tap on Chats  (phone)
2. Select the chat where you want to send a sticker
3. Select Expressions  (phone) or Stickers (iOS and desktop)
4. Select Emoji
   • Android:
   • iOS and desktop:
5. Tap/click on the emoji you want to send

• All sticker packs must comply with Rakuten Viber's Terms of Use and Content Policy
• Any packs that are found to be offensive or don’t comply with our terms and policies will be permanently removed without notice
• Images that you use for stickers are subject to the copyright laws of their original creators
• All custom sticker packs are created under a royalty-free perpetual license. This means that other people can use your stickers without permission from you
• Anyone can forward your sticker once they receive it
• Deleting a sticker pack won’t delete it from anyone who has already downloaded it
• Sticker packs that haven’t been used for over 6 months will be permanently removed without notice
  • Send any sticker from your sticker pack to a friend (or to yourself within My notes) at least once every 6 months to make sure the pack doesn’t get removed

• To create a sticker and to download a user-created sticker is free on Rakuten Viber
• Each sticker pack can hold a minimum of 1 sticker and a maximum of 24 stickers
• You can create up to 20 sticker packs
  • To create more, you will need to delete one or more of the packs you already made
• Upload the image as a 490x490 file. If your image doesn’t have those dimensions, it will be automatically resized
• All stickers are displayed in square proportions
• It’s best to use bright images without a background
• Once created, sticker packs can’t be merged

You can create a sticker from either an image you already have in your gallery or a photo you just took.

1. Take a photo on Rakuten Viber

Once you have your base picture on your screen:

1. Tap on Edit  at the top of your screen
2. Edit the picture
   • Magic wand : remove the background
   • Eraser (Android): erase parts of the picture that you don’t need
   • Trace (Android): trace your finger around the part of the picture that you want to keep
   • Text : add text to your sticker
   • Sticker : add an existing sticker(s) on top of your sticker
   • Doodle : draw on your sticker
3. Tap Save sticker

A new sticker pack containing your sticker will be created.

Tip: Create a new sticker from within a sticker pack that you already created to avoid having multiple packs.

To create a new sticker pack on your phone:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats 
3. Open any chat
4. Select Expressions (phone) or Stickers (iOS and Desktop)
   • Select Stickers  (phone)
5. Tap on the Plus  at the end of the sticker panel
6. Tap Create Stickers 
7. Enter a name for your sticker pack
   • Maximum 25 characters
   • If your sticker pack is public, this information will be shown on the sticker pack landing page
8. Enter a description of the sticker pack (optional)
   • Maximum 70 characters
   • If your sticker pack is public, this information will be shown on the sticker pack landing page
9. Tap a space with the Plus + in the middle
10. Select from where you would like to upload your base image
    • Gallery : choose a picture from your gallery
    • Camera : take a new photo
    • Just doodle : draw a sticker freehand
11. Edit the picture (for instructions, see the Create a new sticker section above)
12. Tap Save sticker
    • This sticker will be used for the thumbnail of your sticker pack
13. To add more stickers, repeat Steps 8 - 11
14. Choose if you want your sticker pack to be public or private
15. Tap Create pack

Once you create the pack, it will appear alongside your other sticker packs on all your devices.

To create a new sticker pack on your desktop:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your desktop
2. Open any chat
3. Click on Stickers 
4. Click on the Arrow next to your sticker packs (bottom right of the screen)
5. Click on Create
6. Enter a name for your sticker pack
   • Maximum 25 characters
   • If your sticker pack is public, this information will be shown on the sticker pack landing page
7. Enter a description of the sticker pack (optional)
   • Maximum 70 characters
   • If your sticker pack is public, this information will be shown on the sticker pack landing page
8. Click on a space with a Plus + in the middle
9. Find the image you want to use for your sticker and click Open
   • This sticker will be used for the thumbnail of your sticker pack
10. To add more stickers, repeat Steps 8 and 9
11. Choose if you want your sticker pack to be public or private
12. Click on Create pack

Once you create the pack, it will appear alongside your other sticker packs on all your devices.

Notes

• On desktop, you won’t be able to edit new stickers using Rakuten Viber’s tools; you can only upload images
• To see a sticker pack that you created on your desktop appear on your phone, restart Rakuten Viber on your phone

To edit a new sticker pack on your phone:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your phone
2. Tap on Chats 
3. Open any chat
4. Select Expressions (phone) or Stickers (iOS and desktop)
   • Select Stickers  (phone)
5. Select a sticker pack that you created
6. Click on the Pen 
7. Make changes and click on Update pack to finish

You can make the following changes:

Update a sticker: Tap on a sticker to edit it

Delete a sticker: Tap on the X at the top of the sticker tile

Add a new sticker: Tap a space with the + in the middle

Name and description: Tap on the existing name or description and make changes

Change privacy status: Choose whether you want your sticker pack to be public or private

Notes

• You can only rearrange the order of the stickers and change the pack’s thumbnail on your desktop
• If you delete the first sticker, your pack’s thumbnail will be updated to the next sticker in line

To edit a new sticker pack on your desktop:

1. Open Rakuten Viber on your desktop
2. Open any chat
3. Click on Stickers
4. Click on the Arrow next to your sticker packs (bottom right of the screen)
5. Click a sticker pack that you created
6. Click on the Pen at the bottom of the sticker pack
7. Add a new sticker by clicking on the + or delete an existing sticker by clicking on X after hovering over it
8. Click on Update pack to finish

While in edit mode, you can change your thumbnail by clicking and dragging another sticker to the topmost left square position. If the thumbnail doesn’t change, click on it and then on the Garbage icon to delete the current thumbnail (your sticker won’t be deleted). The first sticker in your collection will be chosen as the new thumbnail.

You can also rearrange the order of your stickers by clicking and dragging them to another position in the pack (while in edit mode).

Sticker packs that you create can be set to either public or private. This status can be changed at any time by editing your sticker pack.

Public packs

• Public sticker packs can be shared in any chat using a share link
• Anyone with the share link will be able to download the sticker pack
• Other users won’t be able to find a public sticker pack in the Sticker market
• If the pack’s status is changed to Private, the shareable link will lead to a 404 page

Private packs

• Private sticker packs can only be seen by you
• You can share individual stickers from your pack in chats, but no one else can see or download the pack itself
• Stickers sent from private packs can still be forwarded by anyone that has the sticker
