To make calls on Viber Out, you will need to purchase either a plan or credit.
This article will address frequently asked questions regarding Viber Out products. Ready to buy? Let us show you how to
buy a Viber Out plan or credit.
How often does a Viber Out plan renew?
Your Viber Out plan will automatically be renewed every month until you cancel the plan.
How will my payments be processed if I buy a plan?
When you buy a Viber Out plan, you agree to be automatically charged each month for the service. The payments will be made using the payment method you initially used (either through the Google/Apple App stores, or your credit card).
Can I subscribe to the same Minutes Country Plan twice?
You cannot subscribe to the same plan twice. If you need more minutes than your current plan allows, you can either use World Credits or buy a different minutes plan to compensate.
For example, if you call the Philippines for around 240 minutes per month, you can buy the Philippines 180 minute plan plus 60 minutes worth of World Credit OR the 120 AND the 180 minute plan.
You cannot buy the 120 minute plan twice.
What if my credit runs out during a call?
Your call will be disconnected immediately if your World Credit or Minutes Country Plan finishes in the middle of the call. To avoid this, either purchase an Unlimited Country/World Plan or sign up for an automatic top-up when you next purchase World Credits.
How do I enable automatic credit top-ups?
You will be given the option to enable automatic credit top-ups when you buy World Credit using your credit card* through the Viber app (Android and desktop only) or on the Viber Out website.
The top-up amount is equivalent to what you initially buy (for example; if you buy $4.99 worth of credit, each top-up will also be $4.99) and will be initiated when your credit falls below 2.00 USD/EUR.
*Automatic top-ups are not available when buying credit through Google’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
IMPORTANT
Your call will disconnect when your credit falls below 2.00 USD/EUR. Although the top-up is automatic, you will need to start a new call to continue your conversation.
According to Viber's
Terms of Service, if you don't use your Viber Out credit for 6 months, your credit will become frozen, and you won’t be able to immediately use it. To prevent this from happening, make a short Viber Out call at least once every 6 months.
If your credit is frozen, you can unfreeze it at any time by following these steps:
Viber App
- Open Viber on your phone
- Tap on More
(Android)
(iOS)
- Tap on Viber Out

- Scroll down and tap on My Account
- Tap on Unfreeze credit
Viber Out Website
- Log into your account on the Viber Out website
- In either the Overview or the Credit section, find No Credit
- Select Unfreeze
Does unused credit rollover from one month to the next?
World Credit will continue to roll over until you run out of credit.
Minutes from the Minutes Country Plan, do not roll over. Your minute limit will restart each month and you will continue to pay the monthly fee until you cancel, regardless of how many calls you make per month.
Why did I lose my World Credit?
Your World Credit will be lost in the event of the following:
- You deactivate your Viber account
- You remove the Viber application from your phone and don’t reinstall it for over 3 months
- If you have a Japanese number (+81), your credit will expire 180 days after purchase
- You change your phone number and don’t update it on Viber
What will happen to my World Credit/plans if I deactivate Viber on my phone?
If you deactivate Viber on your phone, you will lose your World Credits.
Plans that you bought through Google Play or the App Store will NOT be canceled as Google/Apple are the ones processing the payment each month, and not Viber. You should manually
cancel your plans before you deactivate Viber to discontinue the subscription.
If you purchased any plans using a credit card, you will need to manually
cancel the monthly charges to avoid being charged after deactivating your account.
