You can now call, chat, and find more information about businesses right where you are, on Viber.
Business interaction
Business accounts represent brands on Viber and enable you to connect with them. You can identify businesses by the badge on their info screen.
You can find a business account by entering its name in the search bar and scrolling down until you see it listed under the Businesses section.
Notes
- For the best results, make sure that Viber has permission to access your location
- You will only be shown businesses based in the country you are currently located in
For more information on opening a verified business account, review our Viber for Business website.
If you would like to open a self-service business account on Viber, refer to the Small business accounts article.
You can find more information about a business by reviewing its info page. To reach the info page:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Open your Chats
screen
- Search your desired business’s name in the main search bar / in Viber Marketplace
- Tap on the chat with the business you would like to find more information about
- Tap on the business's Name at the top of the chat
- Tap View business info
The business profile now includes:
- The business's address. By tapping it, your device's default map application will open and start directions to that location
- The business’s category. Tapping it will open the relevant section of the Viber Marketplace (or the main search screen if Marketplace is not available in your country)
Notes
- To view a business’s full description, tap Show more
- To see the business' s distance from your location, Viber will request permission to use your precise location a few seconds after the profile page loads. You can always undo this by going from your chats screen to More → Settings → Privacy → Personal data → turning the “Allow accurate location-based services” off
- Tap Message to open or return to your chat with the business
- Tap Call to call the business's registered phone number (if available)
- Tap Follow to stay updated on the business's activity
Note
You can also quickly open a chat using the large, full-width, Message business button at the bottom of the screen, which remains visible as you scroll.
To share a business profile with your contacts:
- Open Viber on your phone
- Open your Chats
screen
- Tap on the chat with the business you would like to share
- Tap on More
(Android) or the chat title (iOS)
- Android: Tap on Business info
- Tap on Share
- Choose the desired contact(s)
- Tap on Send
At the moment, businesses on Viber only support communication. Transactions between you and the business are completed outside of Viber.
Note
Rakuten Viber is not responsible for handling disputes.
Paying for services / products through Viber Pay is not yet supported.
Businesses you have contacted only have access to your profile photo (if your Show your photo privacy setting is enabled) and display name, unless you have the business owner saved in your contact list (or vice versa.)
By sending your first message to a business, you automatically share your Viber phone number with them. This is so the business can save you as a contact and message you back for support, follow-up, or to provide updates.
Notes
- No information is shared with a business until you send your first message. Simply entering the chat screen does not share your number
- You can rest assured that you are communicating with a verified Viber business when you see the ✓ (tick) mark next to their name

No. The Business inbox can only include chats with businesses on Viber. If you have initiated a chat with a business owner by having them in your address book, that chat can be moved to the Business inbox as well.
Note
Chats with a Business bot will also appear in the Business inbox.
The Business inbox is created only after your first interaction with a business on Viber.
Business messages are sent by companies you've subscribed to receive promotional messages from, received a service from, or interacted with in the past.
Some business messages are one-time-password messages from businesses (such as banks) and include 2-factor authentication codes.
The messages will appear in your Business inbox. To find a business chat, type the name of the company (or phrase contained in the message) in the search bar of your Chats screen.
To learn more about the company that sent you a business message, open the message and tap / click on information at the top of the screen.

Marketplace
The Marketplace is a section within Viber where you can discover and connect with local businesses offering various products and services. It is accessible through a dedicated tab in the Viber app and helps you find businesses near you.
The homepage features carousels like Nearby Businesses and category-specific listings (e.g., “Shopping"). Businesses are filtered based on your location (using either precise or approximate location), searchability, account type, country code, and assigned categories. The results are sorted to show you the most relevant options.
If a carousel has no businesses to display, it will be hidden. The content is refreshed each time you enter the Marketplace tab.
Sharing your location allows the Marketplace to show you nearby businesses. Precise location provides the most accurate results, displaying the distance to each business in meters or kilometers. You can still use the Marketplace with an approximate location.
You now have the option to manually set your desired location by tapping ‘Set a location’ on the map. This lets you explore businesses in an exact area of your choice by dragging and centering the map.
Tap the search bar at the top of the Marketplace home screen, then type at least three characters to start seeing business results that match your query.
Location services enhance your experience by displaying nearby businesses and their distances. Enabling precise location access provides exact measurements. Otherwise, the Marketplace will use an approximate location, which may be less accurate.
Businesses categorized as 18+ will be indicated with an "18+" tag. For users under 18, or if age verification is pending, visuals from these businesses will be blurred until age confirmation is provided.
While browsing the Marketplace, you may see a Featured tag on certain business cards. This label helps you identify businesses that are promoted on Viber.
